De Oscarnominaties van 2025 zijn zojuist bekend gemaakt; hier en daar een kleine verrassing, maar over het algemeen is het wat werd verwacht. De verrassing is wellicht de vele nominaties voor Emilia Pérez (dertien stuks maar liefst) en het ontbreken van een nominatie voor Babygirl. Persoonlijk ben ik heel content, want The Substance is vijf keer genomineerd — waaronder Demi Moore voor haar hoofdrol. Ook Wicked is een grote kanshebber (tien nominaties); zowel Cynthia Erivo als Ariana Grande kunnen een Oscar mee naar huis nemen. Check hier de recensie van Wicked; ik ben héél benieuwd in welke categorie ze met de winst naar huis zullen gaan.
